CURRICULUM VITAE

b. 1983 Brooklyn, NY Celia Luz grew up in the Marlboro Projects, Bklyn, N.Y. She was introduced to art at an early age by her father, an abstract painter. Her earliest influences came from the Marvel Universe and this led to her attending the School of Visual Arts. Though she studied Cartooning and Illustration, it was the first painting class she took in her foundation year that left a lasting impression. This was the beginning of a 10 year transition that would lead to the mixed media works she produces today.
